Rag Sindhu Bhairavi
Sindhu (Sindhi) Bhairavi can be played in a classical or light classical
style. There are many different approaches to this rag in India. The moods
of Sindhu Bhairavi are pathos and joy. It is a late morning rag; however,
it is commonly played as the last item in an all-night concert. Morning Rag
Rag Pilu or Pilu Baroowa
This rag is a mixture of Pilu and Baroowa. When you show the picture of
Baroowa in Pilu it becomes Pilu Baroowa. The beauty of ga is more important
in this rag, then comes Ni. You have to focus on ga and Ni in many ways to
obtain the beauty. Next is Pa; G m P and N g are the important sections to
show the emotions of the rag. The moods created are romance, pathos, and

Rag Hemant
Rag Hemant is a springtime rag and in the spring can be played any time of
the day or night. The rest of the year it is specifically an evening rag.
In this traditional melody Ma is the main, or King, note and Sa is the
minister note. The different moods of Hemant are peace, joy and hope. When
the plants, animals, and humans hear this melody their soul will grow
healthier. Evening Rag
Rag Hindol-Hem
Rag Hindol-Hem is a melody that Ali Akbar Khan composed and it is played
in the Spring and Fall seasons. It is a combination of two already existing
ragas: Hindol and Hemant. Its particular beauty comes from the use of both
shuddha (natural) and tivra (sharp) Ma. Also, the notes Ga and Dha have
very important roles in this ragas' development. The
mood of Hindol-Hem is a combination of peace, pathos, joy, and heroism.
